Wonders of Creation
When I admire the wonders of a sunset or the beauty of the moon, my soul expands in the worship of the creator.
Mohandas Gandhi
The beautiful sunset in the mountains of Nelspruit in SOuth Africa. One of the many things I love about South Africa are the sunsets. No matter where you watch the sunset, there is always an inspiring, heart-warming, reassuring silence about it.
Stop and absorb the next sunset…
So you want to climb Kilimanjaro
Maybe it’s on your bucket list. Maybe you want to raise money for a good cause. Perhaps you’re a young adult touring the world looking for adventure, or a senior citizen hoping to prove that you’re not over the hill yet. Whatever your motivation, you have decided to climb Kilimanjaro. Now what?
Kilimanjaro is one of the world’s great mountains; it’s the highest point in Africa and the highest free-standing mountain (not part of a range) on earth. Who Inspires Me: Jane’s Journey
I love a good documentary. Africa is also pretty high on my interest list so the combination for me is irresistible. If you are the same and love to find out about inspiring people then I highly recommend Jane Goodall.
I had read a couple of Jane Goodall’s books (Reason For Hope & Africa In My Blood – both worth the read) when I was forwarded the trailer for Jane’s Journey. I loved it, so of course I have to share.
It is hard not to find inspiration in Jane. At 75 having given up her life’s work she is travelling the world being interviewed or giving lectures. Devoting more than 300 days of the year to fighting for the planet. She has even been honoured with “Dame of the British Empire” and admitted into the “Légion d’Honneur”, France’s highest decoration.

Scatalog: identifying animal dung and droppings
The ideal Christmas present if you live in southern Africa. This 40 page guide has mostly life-size photographs of about 100 species of animals ranging from mice to elephants. The guide’s author Kevin Murray has apparently spent the last 18 years “walking in the bush throughout southern Africa, collecting and researching droppings”.

Where were Branson’s big hairy ones?
I am just now back from Nairobi, Kenya where I attended Convergence Africa and led a Master Class on the notion of “Executing on that Big idea”.
My session was sold out and the room was packed with people eager to learn more about entrepreneurship and how to overcome challenges specific to the region.
